tip of the week tuesday: threading your machine…
Posted on December 29th, 2009 @ 2:49 pm | Filed in: STITCHING

Today’s tip is a mistake that I used to make all the time, up until I found this tip online a few weeks ago.

“When threading a needle, don’t moisten the end of the thread as this will cause it to swell up and make the job more difficult.”

I used to do that all the time, even as a kid when the mom asked me to thread a needle I did it that way. Well along with that tip was this next one that that I tried right away and it worked.

“The easiest way to thread a sewing machine needle, or hand sewing needle, is to trim the end of your thread on an angle before putting it through the eye of the needle. It also helps if you have a white background to work in front of.”

I knew the white background helped but I hated putting a paper behind the needle every time. So I started cutting the thread at an angle and it worked. You are probably saying “how much of an angle can you cut thread if it’s so thin and tiny. Well I don’t know how but it works, give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

Have a great day!
See you tomorrow for web crawler wednesday. It’s a good one so make sure you stop by!!
